Mr Fixit is a betting info site focused on Scottish football, but quite a bit of information is available for other parts of the UK and the rest of Europe as well.
Paul Jain, the man behind the nom de plume Mr Fixit, has been writing fixed odds columns for the Daily Record for over 15 years. The Daily Record is Scotland’s biggest newspaper, and you can find Mr Fixit’s columns in the punter section every Saturday and on the football pages in midweek. At the Mr Fixit site, which is a collaboration with Selectabet, Mr Fixit publishes much more frequently and brings you betting tips and news seven days a a week.
“Every week I’ll give you my hot picks and hopefully keep you in profit. I’ve built up a big following over the years and usually get more right than wrong,” says Mr Fixit.
Mr Fixit has a newsletter for anyone who wish to receive regular updates, betting news and exclusive betting deals (usually free bets). Simply visit the site and sign up. The newsletter is completely free, just like the site.
Mr Fix it is naturally offering betting tips for Scottish events, such as the The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup (The William Hill Cup), but events like Champions League, Europa League and the FA Cup are also covered. Usually, 2-3 new betting tips are published per day.
Mr Fix has an odds comparison engine that works with a selected group of well-established bookies to show the very best odds available for both Scottish football events and other major football events.
Mr Fix’s odds comparison engine covers all the professional Leagues and Cup competitions in both Scotland and England, plus all the major leagues in Europe. Other important international matches, such as Euro qualifiers, are also included.
Examples of Scottish events for which odds are displayed are the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League matches, the Irn-Bru First Division matches, the Irn-Bru Second Division and the Irn-Bru Third Division matches.
For selected matches, odds are not only available for 1X2 but for other bets as well. You can for instance find odds for top goalscorer and total goals in the Mr Fix odds comparison engine.
Sometimes, Asian handicap prices will be displayed.
Examples of bookies included in the odds comparison engine are Bet365, William Hill, Bet Victor, StanJames, Paddy Power, Blue Square and Ladbrokes.
Mr Fixit is not publishing any bookmaker reviews, but a list of recommended bookmakers is available. Included in this list is information about each bookmaker’s welcome bonus (typically a free bet).
Mr Fixit is running regular contests where it is possible to win betting related prizes, such as free bets or betting merchandise. At the time of writing, it is for instance possible to win a £100 free bet from Bodog by predicting which side will be featured as first to score on the Sky Sports vidiprinter next Saturday (3pm kick-offs only).
Got a Gripe?
Mr Fixit has a service where punters that has encountered a problem with a bookie can e-mail him the details and let him evaluate the situation.
“ If you’re having issues with your bookie and if you think you’re being treated unfairly then feel free to contact me and if I can help you resolve the issue I will. Please note though that I cannot guarantee to resolve every issue in your favour as sometimes the bookies are right and if it’s in their rules then often there’s not a lot that can be done ,” says Mr Fixit.
Mr Fixit has no formal power over any bookie, but a bit of naming and shaming on the popular Mr Fixit site can at least prevent other bettors from falling prey to unfair bookmakers, and sometimes bookies will even change their mind when a case has been reviewed by Mr Fixit.
